Supplier Lead Time Tracker: Promised vs Actual Delivery formulas

Lead time uses elapsed calendar days, with same-day delivery equal to zero. On-time received orders have receipt date on or before promise. On-time percentage = on-time received orders ÷ all received orders × 100. Pending orders stay outside that denominator.

Worked example with fictional data

An order placed October 1 and received October 11 has 10 calendar days of actual lead time. With an October 8 promise, it is 3 days late. An open order promised October 14 is 2 days overdue on the October 16 review date; it is not included in the received-order average.

Choose Load fictional example above to reproduce these results. Sample records are illustrative and are not a recommended target or policy.

Review the result before acting

Use the same lead-time boundary for each supplier: order acceptance to full receipt, for example. Small samples can be misleading. Review item mix, transit and unusual delays before replacing a planning assumption with the simple observed average. Keep note of changed promises without overwriting the original comparison date.

What the planner does not cover

This log does not estimate a future delivery date, monitor carrier tracking or contact suppliers. Dates after the review date are rejected for order and receipt events. For partial shipments, use a defined complete-delivery scope or the separate shipment workflow; do not call a partly received order fully delivered.

Save, restore and export

Add entry creates another record. Edit any field directly or use Remove entry to delete a row. Changing inputs clears the previous report so it cannot be mistaken for current results. Choose Calculate / review results again when your changes are ready.

Save on this device keeps an editable worksheet in this browser only. On a later visit in this browser, your saved worksheet loads automatically. Restore device save can also reload the last save after you confirm replacement. Saving drafts is allowed, but a report requires valid, complete inputs. Download backup creates a versioned JSON file for the same tool. Import backup shows the worksheet label and row count before replacing current work; it does not change the device save until you press Save.

Download CSV exports the settings, summary, row details and calculation notes. CSV is for spreadsheet review; it cannot restore this worksheet. Print / Save PDF recalculates the current entries and opens your browser’s print dialog. Choose Save as PDF where supported. The report excludes navigation, guides and product CTAs. Clear data removes the current worksheet and its device save after confirmation; keep a backup first if needed.

Use a personal browser for private records and keep important backups separately. Entered worksheet fields are not included in our planner-action analytics.

On Android Chrome, device save stays in the same browser. Keep a JSON backup for portability. For PDF, use the browser print dialog and choose Save as PDF when available; printer and share menus vary by device. Physical phone behavior depends on the device and is not certified by desktop browser tests.

Frequently asked questions

Are these working days?

No. The log counts elapsed calendar days; weekends and holidays are included.

Is an order promised today already late?

No. It becomes overdue when the review date is later than its promised date.

Do open orders lower the on-time percentage?

No. Open orders are shown separately. The percentage describes received orders only.

Is it free, and where is my information saved?

The worksheet is free without an account. Save on this device uses this browser’s storage; clearing browser data can remove it. Download a JSON backup for editable recovery. There is no cloud sync or automatic monitoring. CSV and PDF are reports and cannot restore the worksheet.
